Wakefield Cathedral

Situated within the heart of Wakefield city centre this beautiful historic site boasts the tallest spire in Yorkshire. Sandal Security are proud to have created a relationship with the diocese over many years of reliable service and have recently been briefed to upgrade the existing fire system on the Cathedral.

During the site's recent refurbishment our team set to work in upgrading the existing system and fitting a fully automated fire aspiration system throughout the site. This high tech air sampling system provides a more efficient way of early warning smoke detection and covers an evenly spread higher surface area.

The quality and intricacy of the work carried out by the engineers on this two year project was key in ensuring that the system was installed as neatly and discreetly as possible to make sure that the historic stone core of the building was not affected. Liaising with stonemasons guaranteed conservation of the site, whilst ensuring the Cathedral was under the best possible fire protection.

Wakefield Grammar School Foundation

Established in 1591 the successfully renowned foundation of five schools have trusted Sandal Security with all of their security needs from access control to fire alarms for around 20 years. Security and fire safety within this foundation is key not only primarily for the safety of the students and staff but for the heritage and history of the many beautiful buildings.

Sandal Security provides ongoing maintenance and system upgrades across the whole foundation of WGSF. We have recently installed a full new fire alarm system following the refurbishment of the Girls High Junior School.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Labelled Britain's first and finest sculpture park for 40 years YSP is the leading international centre for modern and contemporary sculpture. Set within an 18th century 500 acre estate in West Yorkshire the park is home to the works of Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Andy Goldsworthy and many others.

Due to the value not only in worth but the recognition and fame of most of the art within the grounds Sandal Security hold great responsibility in ensuring that the security of the galleries and ancillary buildings within the 500 acres of land is paramount 24/7.

Bespoke fire, intruder, CCTV and access control systems have been fitted to all aspects of the YSP site. As a local company we are extremely proud of the responsibility and relationship we have with YSP and always ensure that the highest possible security systems are in place.
